Last week I mentioned that things were setting up for the bigger moments to come. Well, this episode delivered a couple of those bigger moments, in spades.

NBC Thursday Comedies - Week 24

I'm back! I was never really gone, just busy, and didn't really feel like writing for a while. That's the problem with not being paid to do something, it can sometimes fall behind in other priorities. In any case, I'm going to try to catch up over the next few days. Just a fair warming, these may be even sparser than usual due to just plain forgetting things.

Game of Thrones - 3x03 - Walk of Punishment

Mainly a piece mover episode. One where there's actually very little travelling, which is unusual for this show. So maybe it's more of a table setting episode. Eh, semantics, it's an episode that is setting things up for the bigger stuff to come.

Game of Thrones - 3x02 - Dark Wings, Dark Words

Ah, there's the rest of the Stark children. In what feels like the second half of a season premiere we get to the characters there wasn't time for in the actual premiere. Arya and her companions Gendry and Hot Pie, Bran with his merry band of Rickon, Osha, and Hodor (Hodor!), Brienne escorting Jamie, and even Theon, whom I had totally forgotten about.

NBC Thursday Comedies - Weeks 22 & 23

A few weeks ago a lone Community episode aired with no other originals. Not wanting to do an entire Thursday post on just one show, it has now been crammed into this post.

Torchwood - Series 1

The spin-off of Doctor Who starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness. I was very excited for this show because I love Captain Jack and severely missed him in series 2 of the flagship show. My expectations were not lived up to. In fact, after flying through the first two series of Who, it took me many, many months to get through this.

Game of Thrones - 3x01 - Valar Dohaeris

The third season is finally here. When you alone have 10 episodes per year, it really feels like forever in between seasons. I have high hopes for this year and next since these next two seasons are adapting my favorite book of the series, A Storm of Swords. I'm also very happy that they split the book, because that thing is a monster.

Downton Abbey - Series 2

I was led to believe by the critics I follow that series two of Downton Abbey was a step down in quality from the first. Maybe because I went in with low expectations I was pleasantly surprised, but on the whole, I think I may have liked it better than series one. It wasn't without problems, though.

NBC Thursday Comedies - Week 21

NBC's Thursday lineup is back to full strength, for one week at least. I guess they didn't want to keep all their comedies in repeats for a whole month, so they sprinkled in one new one in March.

This is an all time low for me, posting in timely manner wise, at least. These episode aired over a month ago and I'm just now getting to writing about them. I've been slacking off on my writing big time this past month, but no more. Game of Thrones is returning soon and I've got to step up my game.

Community is back! It'll never be the same without Dan Harmon, but I am certainly glad to have this great cast of characters back on my TV.

2012 Oscars Best Picture Rank

As in most things on this blog, I'm late again. I barely finished watching all nine Best Picture nominees right before the telecast began last night, so I didn't have any time to get this up before the show. No matter, I'm not making any predictions and my feelings about what movies I liked aren't changed by Argo taking the top prize.

NBC Thursday Comedies - Week 15

The end of 30 Rock.  I'm sad to see it go, but boy is it going out on a high note.  Seven years is a great run for one of the best and yet lowest rated comedies on TV.

NBC Thursday Comedies - Weeks 12 & 13

Once again, I've let myself get way behind on posts. Parks and Rec took a week off for a new comedy, 1600 Penn, so I'm stuffing two weeks together.

Downton Abbey - Series 1

A new catchup series.  This had been on my radar for a while, and I had told myself I was going to be ready for when it premiered in the States.  Alas, I only made it through the first series before the third one started airing here on PBS.  It's pretty addicting, though, so once I get started on the second series, I feel it won't be too long before I'm caught up.

Top Ten Shows of 2012

2012 has come and gone, and there was a lot of good TV this past year.  In my particular list, it was a resurgence of dramas pushing out a few of the comedies I had here last year (my second 10 is overflowing with comedies now).  While a few established dramas notably improved, the only new show of 2012 to make the list was a comedy.  Just a quick reminder, if I don't watch it, it can't make the list.  I watch a lot of shows, but I can't watch everything.  So no Downton Abbey.  I actually just started watching that, so maybe it will show up on the 2013 list.

NBC Thursday Comedies - Week 11

December can be a strange month.  I started working on my 2012 top ten list when it struck me that I had completely forgot to do a write up for the last NBC comedy block.  Between many family Christmas activities, the end of the fantasy football season, throwing a New Year's Eve party, and spending as much time as possible with a friend of mine who was home from Hawaii for a few weeks, it never even entered my mind.  These episodes aired way back on December 6th, so nearly a month ago.  If you can still remember them, here are some quick thoughts.
